Something just fell into our lap and it's amazing: 31 years ago, two employees of the GE plant in Lynn set out on a mission. They visited 40 bars in Lynn in 40 days, and they documented the whole thing.
Each bar comes with a description and a grainy photo. Some of the bars are still there while others are gone. But the drinking scene in 1986 Lynn will live on forever because of these two fearless explorers.
We will publish this odyssey in 40 parts; a few stops each week. We've been trying to track down the authors and, if we can find them, we'll reveal their identities. But for now they will remain shrouded in mystery.
